Home Remedy For Acne Using Baking Soda Facial Mask

Baking Soda is a cooking ingredient almost all home kitchens will have. When I initially came to know that baking soda can be used as a home remedy for acne I was a bit skeptical. After doing some further reading I felt comfortable trying this natural acne treatment on myself.

How to prepare the baking soda facial mask for acne

Ingredients
Baking Soda (NOT baking powder!)
water to dilute

Preparation Method
To create the paste I generally use one teaspoon of baking soda with about 6 teaspoons of water.

Applying Method
Remember to clean your face with a mild cleanser before applying the paste. Also, I applied the paste on affected areas only.
(If this is the first time you are using baking soda as an acne treatment, make sure that you try it out on one small area to test for allergies/irritation)
Keep the baking soda facial mask for about 10 minutes and wash off with water.

My Observations
Irrespective of the hype, I didn't notice any improvement for me nor did it get worse. It seems that the baking soda facial mask for acne is not suited for all skin types. If it suites your skin type, you may see better results.
